'Cabaret' Reveals New West End Cast Members

Latest West End News  Theatre Tickets London

A brand new Cabaret cast is to take over in West End performances at the Kit Kat Club from May 29th.

Making her West End debut in the iconic role of Sally Bowles is Maude Apatow. The Euphoria actress is currently starring as  'Audrey' in a production of Little Shop of Horrors in New York.

Mason Alexander Park will take over as the Emcee in the show. Park is perhaps best known for roles in Netflix TV series such as The Sandman, and Cowboy Bebop.

Commenting on the new appointment Park said: “I am so thrilled to be joining this remarkable production playing a role that has changed my life continuously over the years, in a show that is unfortunately more timely than ever. To sing these songs and tell this story as a trans person in a time in which many of the themes of the show are slowly reentering the public consciousness, with politicians targeting my community and the communities at the center of this piece is a harrowing, exciting, and necessary challenge that I am so looking forward to taking on.”

Other key members of the cast of Cabaret include Beverley Klein as Fraulein Schneider, Teddy Kempner who takes over as Herr Schultz, Michelle Bishop as Fraulein Kost, Danny Mahoney as Ernst Ludwig, Nathan Ives Moiba as Cliff Bradshaw, Sophie Maria Wojna, Gabriela Benedetti, Adam Taylor, Charles Croysdill, Laura Delany, Grant Neal, Matthew Gent, Ying Ue Li, Ela Lisondra, Sally Frith, Chris O’Mara, Hicaro Nicolai, Toby Turpin, and Patrick Wilden. For certain performances, Emily Benjamin will play the role of Sally Bowles.

The plot of Cabaret is set in early 1930s Berlin, and centres around the goings on in the notorious Kit Kat Club, most notably the relationship between American writer Cliff Bradshaw and club singer Sally Bowles.

The musical by Kander and Ebb includes well-known songs including "Money," "Mein Herr," and "Maybe This Time."

Cabaret is directed by Rebecca Frecknall and features sound design by Nick Lidster, scenic and costume design by Tom Scutt, choreography by Julia Cheng, and lighting design by Isabella Byrd.

The Wyndham's Theatre is a medium size West End theatre located next to Leicester Square station with a capacity of 878 seats.

The theatre is set across four levels and generally has good views available throughout, Each level is both shallow and features extremely raked seating, however, some of the seats at the ends of rows do have minor restrictions.

Premium seats are in the front of the Royal Circle, in the centre of rows B-F that have views that will not be obstructed by audience members in front due to the high rake and offer completely unobstructed views of the stage. The front of the Stalls section is also a good option for intimate plays, although due to the high stage in the venue, it can pay to sit more than three rows back.

Theatregoers on a budget looking to book cheap Oklahoma tickets can find great value in both the Grand Circle and Balcony which both offer exceptionally clear, although distant, views of the stage. Other value can be found by studying the seating plan to exploit cut-off points in the price bands throughout the theatre and also by sitting towards the ends of rows or further back in the auditorium to bring prices down.
