'Ain’t Too Proud - The Life and Times of the Temptations' To Open In London In 2023

Another Broadway musical import is on its way to the West End as Ain’t Too Proud - The Life and Times of the Temptations will arrive in London in 2023 and begin performances at the Prince Edward Theatre on March 31st, 2023.

Ain’t Too Proud tells the true story of the Motown group, the Temptations, and their rise from the mean streets of Detroit to eventually being included in the 'Rock and Roll Hall of Fame' and features some of the group’s 42 top 10 hits, including plenty of popular singalong favourites such as “My Girl," “Papa Was a Rollin’ Stone,” "I'm Gonna Make You Love Me," and many more. 

Following its world premiere in 2017, Ain’t Too Proud moved to Broadway in 2019 and was nominated for 12 prestigious Tony Awards.

Speaking about the show's London opening next year,  the Temptations executive producer and founding member Otis Williams commented “I am truly thrilled that our Tony Award-winning musical Ain’t Too Proud – The Life and Times of The Temptations, which was a smash hit on Broadway and is currently touring to 50 cities in the U.S., will be opening in the West End next Spring. The UK has always loved our music and embraces it as much today as it did 60 years ago. All of us involved with the show can’t wait to share this very production with you all."

Ain’t Too Proud - The Life and Times of the Temptations will reunite director Des McAnuff with choreographer Sergio Trujilio and features a book by Dominique Morisseau. The wider creative team behind the show includes sound design by Steve Canyon Kennedy, costume design by Paul Tazewell, scenic design by, Robert Brill, and lighting design by Howell Binkley.
