Romesh Ranganathan & Sheridan Smith To Star In Woman In Mind In London
Romesh Ranganathan will make his stage debut in the West End this December alongside Sheridan Smith in Alan Ayckbourn’s psychological comedy Woman in Mind at the Duke of York’s Theatre in London.
Ranganathan takes on the role of Bill alongside Smith's Susan in this Much-anticipated revival, which explores the after-effects of a bump to Susan's head that splits her world in two.
Louise Brealey also joins the cast as Muriel, along with Tim McMullan as Gerald, Taylor Uttley as Rick, Chris Jenks as Tony, Sule Rimi as Andy, and Safia Oakley-Green as Lucy. Michael Woolfitt and Katie Buchholz complete the company. The play will be directed by Michael Longhurst, accompanied by a talented creative team featuring Soutra Gilmour (set & costume design), Lee Curran (lighting design), and Paul Arditti (sound design).
Ranganathan commented on the appointment, saying, “I’m honoured to be stepping onstage in a play for the first time (since primary school) alongside the incredible Sheridan Smith and company. It’s very much a mix of feeling excited about such an amazing experience, as well as a real rich vein of extreme nerves. Alan Ayckbourn’s Woman in Mind is an amazing play, and I look forward to helping to bring it to life. I’m also playing a doctor, which means that my mum might finally feel something approaching pride.”
