Paddington The Musical Announces Principle Cast Ahead Of West End Opening
The principal cast and further members of the creative team for the forthcoming West End production of Paddington The Musical have been revealed. Performances will begin at the Savoy Theatre in London from 1 November.
The musical has been adapted for the stage from the much-loved books by Michael Bond, with music and lyrics by Tom Fletcher, book by Jessica Swale, and is directed by Luke Sheppard. The plot of Paddington the Musical follows the fortunes of a small, lost bear who arrives in London from Peru in search of a new home. In the process, along with finding happiness with the Brown family, Paddington learns that for a young bear, London can be a dangerous place.
The much-anticipated new production will feature a talented cast including Teddy Kempner (Mr Gruber), Brenda Edwards (Tanya), Victoria Hamilton-Barritt (Millicent Clyde), Tarrin Callender (Grant), Bonnie Langford (Mrs Bird), Amy Booth-Steel (Lady Sloane), Timi Akinyosade (Tony), Delilah Bennett-Cardy (Judy Brown), Tom Edden (Mr Curry), Adrian Der Gregorian (Mr. Brown), Amy Ellen Richardson (Mrs. Brown), and the role of Jonathan Brown is played by Leo Collon, Joseph Bramley, Jasper Rowse, and Stevie Hare.
The additional members of the creative team include Ellen Kane (Choreographer), Matt Brind (Orchestrations and Arrangements, Musical Supervisor), Gabriella Slade (Costume Designer), Tom Pye (Scenic Designer), Gareth Owen (Sound Designer), Neil Austin (Lighting Designer), Ash J Woodward (Video Designer and Animation), Laura Bangay (Musical Director), Campbell Young Associates (Wig, Hair, & Make-Up Design), Majid Adin (Additional Animation & Illustration), Tobago and D-Lime (Additional Music Consultants), and Javier Marzan (Physical Comedy Consultant.
Both the remainder of the full cast and the Paddington Bear Designer are yet to be announced.
