Brian Conley To Star As Doc Brown In West End
Brian Conley will join the West End cast of Back to the Future the Musical at the Adelphi Theatre as Doctor Emmett Brown from 13 August. He will play a limited run in the show until 3 November.
The popular star of stage and screen, who has previously appeared in West End productions of Hairspray, 9 to 5 The Musical, and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, will temporarily take over the role from Cory English, who returns to the show from 5 November.
Conley commented, “Great Scott! I'm absolutely thrilled to be stepping into the DeLorean as Doc Brown – it’s a gift of a part in such an iconic musical. It’s pure, high-voltage fun, and I can't wait to bring my own spark to the mad genius!”
Back To The Future: The Musical also stars Caden Brauch as Marty McFly, Orlando Gibbs as George McFly, Sarah Goggin as Lorraine Baines, Alex Runicles as Biff Tannen, Patricia Wilkins as Linda McFly, Liam McHugh as Dave McFly, C.J. Borger as Marvin Berry and Goldie Wilson, Talia Palamathanan as Jennifer Parker, Lee Ormsby as alternate Doctor Emmett Brown and Strickland, and Ellis Kirk as alternate Marty McFly.
The talented cast is completed by Billie Bowman, Kofi Aidoo-Appiah, Lauren Dawes, Ella Beaumont, Charlotte Coggin, Gracie Caine, Adam Margilewski, Connor Lewis, Matthew Ives, Helen Gulston, Bryan Mottram, Anna Murray, Alexander Day, Louis Quinn, Zachkiel Smith Samuel Nicholas, and Grace Swaby-Moore.
The popular West End musical is based on the much-loved 1985 movie, Back to the Future and follows the fortunes of teenager Marty McFly, as he is accidentally transported back 30 years in the past to 1955 in a time-travelling DeLorean car invented by his eccentric friend, Dr. Emmett Brown. Before he can return to his own time, Marty must ensure his high school-aged parents meet, and fall in love — otherwise, his entire existence could go up in smoke.
