When Harvard professor Charles Nichols offers an invitation to a contentious white nationalist to his annual symposium, all hell breaks loose.
His colleagues all express concern about how this will affect both his and the reputation of the University; his students are protesting vociferously. Charles, however, refuses to budge. Could there be another agenda?
Dominic Dromgoole directs the production that stars Julian Ovenden (Charles Nichols), Katie Bernstein (Maggie), Tanya Franks (Amy), Paul Rider (Frank), and Georgia Landers (Quinn).
Written by Paul Grellong, The Power Of Sail is a moral and thought-provoking thriller investigating the fragile and painfully thin line between freedom of speech and hate – and who ultimately bears the cost.
This production at the Menier Chocolate Factory is co-produced with previous Menier collaborator Daryl Roth and opens on 28th March, with previews from the 20th March, and will showcase for a strictly limited 8-week run until 12th May.
