Casting has been announced ahead of the forthcoming West End transfer of Plaza Suite, Neil Simon’s romantic comedy starring Emmy Award winner Sarah Jessica Parker and Tony Award winner Matthew Broderick. The production will open in London at the Savoy Theatre following its sold-out 19-week Broadway run in 2022.
Joining Parker who will be making her West End debut in the production, and Broderick are Rohit Gokani as The Waiter, Eric Sirakian as Boden Eisler/Bellhop, and Charlie Oscar as Jean McCormack/Mimsey Hubley.
The company also includes Caroline Sheen, Nick Barclay, Jamie Coyne, and Hannah Morrison in understudy roles.
Plaza Suite will see Parker and Broderick play three different couples in one famous hotel room. Sam and Karen are a long-married pair whose strained relationship seems to be heading for an early checkout, Roy and Norma are the father and mother of the bride, about to celebrate the wedding of their daughter and Jesse and Muriel are former high school sweethearts.
The creative team behind the production will feature Marc Shaiman (original music), Brian MacDevitt (lighting design), John Lee Beatty (set design), Jane Greenwood (costume design), and Scott Lehrer (sound design).
A £40 daily ticket lottery will take place for the duration of the run with ten tickets available to purchase by lucky winners for every performance. Except for the first draw on January 15th, lottery winners will be randomly selected on Mondays for all of the performances taking place the following week. The lottery can be entered on the official Plaza Suite website from noon on January 10th.
Plaza Suite will run until March 31st at the Savoy Theatre.
