The Choir of Man is a glorious celebration of the power of togetherness and community, all set in a traditional British pub. The party atmosphere is helped along with a catalogue of well known songs by artists such as Guns 'N' Roses, Adele, Avicii, Sia and many more, as well as featuring a working bar on stage.
The new cast of The Choir of Man includes Levi Tyrell-Johnson, Owen Bolton, Michael Baxter, Lucas Koch, Jordan Oliver, Matt Beveridge, Sam Ebenezer, Lemuel Knights, Matt Nalton, Ben Norris, Mark Irwin, Gavin Ryan, and Matt Thorpe.
Commenting on the show 's return to the West End, cast member Ben Norris said, “Watching this show grow from the charmingly ramshackle Edinburgh Fringe gamble it started life as 5 years ago, into the Olivier-nominated cult hit it has become has been one of the greatest privileges and surprises of my career so far, and one of the greatest joys. As a male voice choir, we wanted to make a show that brings joy to people. Above all, we wanted to make a show that puts an arm around people, of all genders, and invites them to either forget their troubles for an evening or to share them. Sometimes it’s literally life-saving."
The Choir of Man is a show created by Andrew Kay and Nic Doodson who also directs the production. The wider creative team features vocal arrangements, musical supervision, and orchestrations by Jack Blume, movement direction and choreography by Freddie Huddleston, monologues written by Ben Norris, sound design by Sten Severson, lighting design by Richard Dinnen, costume design and associate scenic design by Verity Sadler, casting by Debbie O'Brien, and scenic design by Oli Townsend.
The Associate Choreographer for The Choir Of Man is Rachel Chapman and Hollie Casser is the Associate Musical Director. The show is produced as a collaboration between by Immersive Everywhere, Wendy & Andy Barnes, Nic Doodson, Andrew Kay, and AK Theatricals.
Performances of The Choir of Man will return to the Arts Theatre from October 1st, 2023.
