Full Casting Announced For 101 Dalmatians In London
Full casting has now been announced ahead of the opening of 101 Dalmatians: The Musical in London at the Eventim Apollo on 18 July for a limited six-week season.
Making his West End stage debut in the show will be Jeff Brazier as Casper. He will join the previously announced Sydnie Christmas as Cruella De Vil, along with Laura Baldwin as Samuel Thomas as Tom, Danielle, JLS singer Aston Merrygold as Jasper, Linford Johnson as Pongo, and Emma Thornett as Perdi.
The show's ensemble will feature Benedict Hastings, Kenan Lewis Smith, Dylan Collymore, Jhanaica Van Mook, Rachel Lea-Gray, Lottie Johnson, Callum Martin, Joe Sleight, and Chioma Uma. The swings are Victoria Compson-Bradford and Ronan O’Hara.
Brazier commented, “I love taking on new challenges and I’m so excited to absorb all of the acting experience around me from the cast of 101 Dalmatians. I’ll be working hard to learn my lines and looking forward to bringing smiles to lots of people’s faces throughout our summer run at the Eventim Apollo.”
Merrygold also said, “I’m very proud to be joining the cast of 101 Dalmatians and excited to be a part of this production in Hammersmith for the summer. The kids can’t wait to see their dad back on stage!”
Dodie Smith’s much-loved book has been adapted and transformed into a stage musical, written by Douglas Hodge (lyrics and music) and Johnny McKnight (book), from a new stage adaptation from Zinnie Harris.
The creative team behind 101 Dalmatians features director Bill Buckhurst, costume designer Sarah Mercadé, puppet designer Jimmy Grimes, musical supervisor Alfonso Casado Trigo, sound designer Chris Whybrow, orchestrations by Jack Hopkins, lighting design from James Whiteside, choreography by Lucy Hind, set design from David Woodhead, and musical director Leigh Stanford Thompson.
