The Forsyte Saga Part 1: Irene Tickets - Park Theatre

London, England. 1886. Wealthy solicitor Soames Forsyte is a man of property, and Irene, his beautiful wife, is his most prized possession in the world. After commissioning an architect to build a house for him that is suitable to keep her, cracks in their marriage finally begin to appear until something so shocking happens that it tears their family apart.

Soames’ daughter Fleur is haunted by the dark family secret years later when history starts to repeat itself… John Galsworthy’s classic story The Forsyte Saga has been newly dramatized for the stage and is now showcased in two parts by Shaun McKenna and Lin Coghlan at the Park Theatre, bringing the unheard female voices in the story to the forefront for the first time. A story that spans four decades from the very end of the Victorian age to the start of the roaring 1920s, the Forsyte Saga is an epic tale of money, sex, and power.

The Forsyte Saga Part 1: Irene and The Forsyte Saga Part 2: Fleur features a cast of nine in a stylish period production and are performed across alternate evenings and run consecutively on matinee days.

The Park Theatre was discovered by, and is the brainchild of Artistic Director Jez Bond, – who in 2009 took a disused office – realising its potential and transformed the space with a little help from David Hughes Architects – a first time theatre architect. Together, they embarked on a period of extensive research, which involved visiting over 35 theatres of all sizes across the UK, both large, to harness the inspiration and research while collecting the ingredients needed to create the perfect theatre space for the public. The Park Theatre is a two auditorium venue located within a new build property that incorporates both a 200 seat theatre (Park200), along with a smaller and more flexible 90 seat space (Park90). The complex is also complemented by The Morris Space for education and rehearsal purposes, along with a large gallery and café-bar.
