Bilal and Hafsah are not looking for love. Hafsah has her books, her faith, her dreams. Bilal… well he’s just trying to navigate his way through uni.
Studying in London, a long way from their hometowns of Birmingham and Bradford, the pair find common ground in the unlikely form of a peanut butter and blueberry sandwich. As their connection grows, the past and social realities of their lives become difficult to ignore. Between obligations, opportunities, and injustices, will they still be able to choose each other?
Peanut Butter and Blueberries is author, poet, and educator Suhaiymah Manzoor-Khan's debut play at the Kiln Theatre which explores how we can still love when the weight of the world is on our shoulders.
