“Shall we have a proper conversation about this? I'm ready to stop pretending if you are.”
Shortly after her father's death, Peace receives a strange message from a stranger wanting to meet her. Her Nigerian half-brother, Bolu, who she never knew existed.
Trapped between her fiancé's encouragement and her mother's concern, Faith invites Bolu to England - and his arrival feels like something has clicked into place.
There are some questions about this stranger's intentions that need to be asked, however, as his mysterious past is hanging heavy in the air. As she fights to keep herself - and her fractured family - together, Peace must face up to the fact that the answers she seeks could lead to everything she holds dear falling apart.
Faith Omole's play, My Father's Fable, is a gripping tale of grief, belonging, and a family living on the edge. Directed by Rebekah Murrell at the Bush Theatre, with a talented cast featuring BAFTA-winner Rakie Ayola.
